Islamabad, Dec 27: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that January 1, 2025 (Wednesday) will be observed as a bank holiday. According to a statement issued by the central bank, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public dealing on that day.

However, the statement clarified that bank, DFI, and MFB employees will be required to attend the office as usual. This closure will not affect the regular attendance of bank staff. The holiday applies only to public dealings, meaning customers will not be able to access banking services on that day.
