Several private schools within the province have declared their decision to organise summer camps without getting approval from the Punjab government.

Punjab School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat claims that no policy has been announced or permission granted to private schools to establish summer camps.According to him, summer camp announcements from school administrations should not be issued without permission.

“Our meetings about summer camps are under way and the decision to allow the camps summer will be made by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif,” he stated. When the relevant authorities issued a heatwave notice last week, a group of private schools had earlier refused to close their doors. The owners had stated that they were in charge of the students examinations.

Because of the high heat on May 25, all public sector schools were closed for summer vacation. However, the Punjab government had given permission for them to hold the exams.private schools remained open, although some large chains have now recommended parents to send their kids in summer camps.

Universities in the province have also ceased on-campus academic activity and begun offering classes virtually due to the severe weather. Even though the temperature in some places has risen above 45 degrees Celsius, the schools have nonetheless scheduled summer camps. The datas of several private schools’ summer breaks have not been announced.
