Shaheen Shah Afridi has decided not to participate in this year’s edition of The Hundred, according to reports from The Telegraph.

Despite being retained by Welsh Fire in the £100,000 category, he’s now considering signing with the Global T20 Canada league.

The shorter duration of the Global T20 league allows him more time with his family, unlike The Hundred, which overlaps with his commitments.

While he’s withdrawing from The Hundred, it’s not confirmed whether he’s officially committed to the Global T20 Canada league.

Welsh Fire will soon announce a replacement pace bowler for the tournament, scheduled from July 23 to August 18 this year.
