ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 2: For the transportation department and commercial vehicle industries, the Sindh government, together with Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, has launched a comprehensive digitalization and automation initiative. The objective of this program is to improve the system’s safety, transparency, and efficiency.

The project includes the digitalization of Trans Karachi, the Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), and the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA). According to reports from a meeting in Karachi led by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, this process has already started.

Minister Memon was provided with a comprehensive update on the status and future directions of the digitization and automation initiatives during the meeting. He emphasized that the issuing of inter-provincial route permits will be streamlined and made more user-friendly by the PTA’s unification under a single software system.

The online route permit application and renewal process is one of the new system’s primary features. Transporters will find it easier to apply for and renew route permits, fitness certifications, and body manufacturers’ permits online thanks to this improvement. The minister stressed that the department’s overall efficiency would be improved and that the administrative load would be much reduced as a result of this digital transformation.
