Islamabad, Oct 1: Sindh CM Invites Chinese Investors to Explore Opportunities in E-Vehicles and Waste-to-Energy Projects. Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, stated on Tuesday that his administration would welcome Chinese public and private companies to make direct investments in the projects they choose or to form a public-private partnership with the local government.
The chief minister made the statements during a meeting with a delegation of Chinese investors led by Chairman Belt & Road (B&R) Group Wan Xiaowu. He consented to help the city attract private Chinese investment.
According to the chairman of B&R, more than a dozen leading Chinese companies expressed interest in investing in Karachi, specifically in the areas of waste-to-energy, wastewater treatment, desalination water plants, electric bus manufacturing, kits for converting patrol motorcycles to electric power, and city sewerage system reconstruction.

In order to choose the project and negotiate so that work could begin, the parties decided to meet again with the Board of Investment and the Planning and Development department.

CM Murad stated that his government has taken action against terrorism and extremism, including exchanging intelligence and coordinating operations with law enforcement, as part of his efforts to foster unity and peace in Sindh.
Speaking to 240 military officers enrolled in National and Security Course-25, the chief minister delivered the following statements. Military officers and public servants from 24 friendly nations under the command of Chief Instructor Major General Mohammad Akhtar.
“Outreach and community engagement initiatives have been launched to deter radicalization and advance harmony and peace.” According to CM Murad, the Sindh government has strengthened the police force through a number of programs.
“These initiatives include the development of infrastructure and training programs.” He cited particular efforts like the introduction of the Karachi Safe City Project and the modernization of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and its special section.The Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4) project, which includes installing ANPR and facial recognition cameras at 40 toll plazas in Sindh, was also highlighted by him.
The chief minister disclosed that the cost of the probe has gone up, and police stations have been given a direct budget of Rs 4.8 billion. In addition, Rs4.961 billion in health insurance has been given to the police personnel.Additionally, he announced an increase in the Shaheed Package from Rs10 million to Rs23 million, which now includes employment opportunities for family members as well as compensation till retirement.
The province administration has taken action to solve issues in the Katcha region, emphasizing the provision of social services and the development of infrastructure.The chief minister stated that funds had been set aside for the Sindh police to purchase drones, APCs, and 12.7 guns, among other cutting-edge equipment, in order to address difficulties in the Katcha region.
In addition, efforts are being undertaken to build bridges and highways in order to increase mobility, which is essential for efficient law enforcement. Speaking about the province’s financial situation, the CM said that the entire budget outlay for 2024–2025 is Rs. 3.056 trillion. This comprises current revenue of Rs. 1,912 billion, development projects of Rs. 959 billion, and capital expenditures of Rs. 184.8 billion.
The Chief Minister underscored the necessity of improved fiscal management, noting that the monthly expenditure on necessities, encompassing salaries and pensions, totals Rs. 143 billion.
Furthermore, the government still places a high priority on public services, social protection, and infrastructure, with Foreign Project Assistance (FPA) being a major source of funding for these initiatives.
Sindh CM Invites Chinese Investors to Explore Opportunities in E-Vehicles and also he claimed that in 2022, floods that devastated 70% of the province, displacing 12 million people and causing extensive damage, would devastate Sindh. “At the Climate Resilient Pakistan Conference in Geneva, the Sindh government presented a $11.6 billion recovery plan, assessing the losses at $20 billion,” he said.
The Chief Minister for 2024–2025 stated that Sindh will spend Rs. 959 billion on infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture.
