Islamabad, Sep 4: The Sindh Food Authority raided a plant on Tuesday in Bhains Colony, Karachi, where chemicals were being combined with water to make milk.
The Sindh Food Authority’s ADG, Muzamil Haliputo, stated that the factory was using 750 kilograms of chemicals to produce 9,000 liters of milk.
The 480 liters of water that were used to make the chemically tainted milk were destroyed by the authorities.
The employees who produced this dangerous milk were detained, and they are facing legal repercussions.
Muzamil Haliputo made it clear that any actions endangering public health would not be accepted by the authorities.
Similar raids on factories that produce synthetic milk were carried out by the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) last month, during which they seized hazardous materials and detained employees.
The SFA claims that after receiving accusations that the plant was making false (synthetic) milk by adding chemicals to the water, the operation was conducted in Bhains Colony in Karachi.
For a while, a network of fraudulent milk makers has been distributing tainted milk, posing as “fresh milk from Bhains Colony,” to different parts of Karachi.
The SFA team led by ADG Muzamil Haliputo seized 750 kg of chemicals that were used to make 9,000 liters of fake milk.
Moreover, 480 liters of the false milk that had been made were confiscated and disposed of. The SFA has promised to take strong measures against individuals engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of tainted milk, and the whole workforce of the factory has been placed under arrest.
