Islamabad, Feb 16: The Sindh government has implemented a strict ban on the unnecessary use of social media in all public institutions across the province. This decision, aimed at maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in government offices, restricts officers and employees from recording or sharing videos during duty hours.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has formally enforced the ban through an official notification, directing all public sector employees to comply. The Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Sindh Police have been instructed to ensure the effective implementation of this policy across departments.

Any government official or employee found posting content related to their official responsibilities on social media will face strict disciplinary action. The government has warned employees against sharing photos or videos taken inside government offices, official vehicles, or while in uniform.

The notification further prohibits officers from using personal social media accounts to discuss or publicize official matters. Any violation of this policy will be treated as a breach of the government’s code of conduct, leading to departmental proceedings.
