Islamabad, Aug 13: In order to boost localization and lessen reliance on imports, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to aiding the automotive sector through favorable policies and encouraging small and medium-sized vendor enterprises.

During his tour of the Port Qasim Authority manufacturing plant of Indus Motor Company (IMC), he stated that the province administration was working tirelessly to promote the large-scale manufacture of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). He believed that “these efforts will generate more employment opportunities within the province, both direct and indirect.”

The chief minister was given a thorough lecture on the newest production techniques, including the well-known Toyota Production System, and was given a tour of the IMC’s cutting-edge facilities. Mr. Shah was also given an update on IMC’s latest export accomplishments, such as the raw material sale to Egypt that proved to be successful and signify the company’s integration into Toyota’s global supply chain.

Furthermore, IMC has started exporting automobiles to nations in Oceania, such as the Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, and Corolla Cross models. These achievements demonstrate IMC’s dedication to developing Pakistan’s automotive sector internationally.

Ali Asghar Jamali, chief executive of IMC, emphasized the significance of stable policies in maintaining the expansion of the automobile industry. “Having Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visit our plant is an honor and a boost to our team’s morale.”
