ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 17: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated a scholarship program awarding 1,000 Google Career Certificates to students from 10 public institutions around the province, marking an important step to improve digital skills among Sindh’s young.
A significant step has been taken to improve the employability of local graduates in the ICT sector with the statement made on Friday.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tech Valley and the Universities & Boards Department formalized the effort. The goal of this partnership is to make it easier for students at Sindh’s public higher education institutions to receive these beneficial credentials.
Notably, 50% of the scholarships are designated for female students as part of the program’s commitment to gender equality in tech education. The government, educational institutions, and tech sector have formed a strategic collaboration with the aim of bridging the digital skills gap and equipping Sindh’s young for the rapidly changing employment market.During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of information technology (IT) in the modern labor market.
He underlined that, in an increasingly digital environment, youth who are looking for work must embrace IT abilities. The Chief Minister pointed out that the IT industry provides a broad range of credentials and abilities that allow people to work from home.
By providing students with globally recognized IT credentials, this program seeks to increase their competitiveness on a worldwide level. The initiative aims to enable Sindh’s young to actively participate in the nation’s technical growth as well as find jobs by giving them access to these vital credentials.
