Islamabad, Sep 4: The first privately-owned edtech platform in Pakistan, Skills360, had its inaugural convocation ceremony in Karachi, where over 100 students from various backgrounds received course completion certificates. This event marked a crucial step towards empowering Pakistan’s youth.

Graphic Designing and CMS Development certificates, certified by the Skill Development Council (SDC), were given out. Notably, the first class of Skills360 students entered without paying any course or enrollment fees, which was a novel approach for a Pakistani private edtech institution.

As a result, the convocation served as both a significant achievement for the school and a ray of optimism for the graduating students, who now possess the real-world skills necessary to make valuable contributions to both their own careers and the local economy.

Senior representatives from Skills360, parents of the graduating kids, and faculty members were present at the celebration. More than 20 of the top students in each program were able to land jobs immediately following graduation, demonstrating the real-world relevance of the courses presented. One of Skills360’s primary technical support partners, ProByte Pvt. Ltd., offered these options.

In his welcome address, Mr. Kashif Shah, Executive Director of Skills360, set the tone for an event that honored the graduates’ promise of a better future in addition to their academic accomplishments. In spite of his absence, the departing students received a message from Dr. Shaukat Wasi, Director of Academics at Skills360 and a well-known supporter of skill development in Pakistan.

In it, he stressed the significance of these programs in changing the lives of young Pakistanis, especially those from marginalized communities who frequently find high-quality training and higher education out of reach due to financial constraints.

The co-founder of Skills360, Mr. Burhan Mirza, gave a progress report outlining the institution’s incredible transformation from a side project to one of Pakistan’s top organizations for skill development. Speaking to the graduates, Mr. Mirza imparted wisdom from his extensive experience and urged them to support and believe in their nation rather than pursuing possibilities overseas.

We find this program particularly meaningful because it aims to empower the future generation of leaders rather than only focusing on education. We want our students to graduate from school with the abilities necessary to support themselves financially and raise the standard of living for their families. We’re investing in the future of our country by opening these doors, not just in individual education,” he said.

Additionally, Mr. Mirza emphasized Skills360’s dedication to diversity and inclusivity by emphasizing that the school accepts students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. He emphasized that the graduates’ success should be determined not just by their own financial gain but also by the beneficial effects they have on their communities, and he urged them to use their newly acquired abilities to add value to society.
