ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 11: The cost of a solar panel has abruptly decreased to Rs. 30-32 per Watt, the lowest amount in Pakistan’s history of this industry.

Due to oversupply in the local market and a decline in global prices, solar panel prices have decreased. According to well-informed sources, the rate reduction is the result of a significant global drop in lithium battery sales.

In the last year, the cost of lithium batteries has decreased by about half on the global market. Dry batteries haven’t experienced much of a rate reduction since importers have refused to decrease costs for local purchasers, despite the fact that this has had a big impact on domestic solar panel prices.

Pakistan’s solar energy market has expanded significantly since 2023, thanks in part to Chinese imports that enable importers to satisfy the nation’s growing net metering requirement. Thousands of customers have been compelled to move to more affordable and dependable solar energy options due to the high cost of grid electricity.
