Islamabad, Mar 09, 2025: Sri Lankan cricketer Ashen Bandara was arrested on Saturday following an alleged assault involving his neighbour over a parking dispute.

The incident took place in Kolamunna, Piliyandala, after a verbal argument regarding a vehicle blocking the road escalated into a physical confrontation.

Police reported that Bandara allegedly trespassed into the neighbour’s house and assaulted the individual.

Following his arrest on suspicion of assault, Bandara was granted bail later that evening. He is expected to appear in court on March 12.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) CEO, Ashley de Silva, stated that the board would review the matter before deciding on any further action.

De Silva emphasized that although Bandara isn’t on a central contract, his role with Police SC in the National Super League could impact the board’s reputation.

andara, a 26-year-old middle-order batter known for his fielding abilities, has represented Sri Lanka in six ODIs and six T20Is.

Bandara’s last appearance for the national team was at the October 2023 Asian Games, and the SLC is considering an internal inquiry based on the incident and his contract status..
