Islamabad, Oct 9: Swedish Envoy Meets with Law Minister. The Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg von Linde, paid Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Minister of Law and Justice, a visit on Wednesday.

According to a news release, both parties investigated areas of possible collaboration and open discourse during the meeting and had a good discussion on the status of bilateral relations. The law minister highlighted Sweden’s proactive approach to fostering tolerance and understanding while applauding the government of Sweden for its efforts in combating the global spread of Islamophobia.

Open discussions, according to Ambassador von Linde, are crucial to promoting international understanding and common viewpoints. She restated Sweden’s resolve to enhance ties with Pakistan and other GSP Plus nations.

The Law Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing governance in crucial domains like politics, press freedom, and judicial independence. He emphasized how the government is committed to protecting basic human rights, as seen by the recent creation of a commission for the safety of journalists.

Regarding gender equality, Senator Tarar said that Pakistan is committed to gender justice and that the government is working on procedural reforms to guarantee the protection of women against domestic abuse.

Both sides expressed hope for more cooperation and fruitful discussions on a range of topics of shared interest. Both parties expressed optimism and looked forward to further developing their bilateral relationship as the meeting came to an end.
