Islamabad, Aug 20: In order to interact with the Sialkot business community, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, Counselor of the Embassy Shafiev Saidjon, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdulloev Khurshed paid a visit to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

President SCCI Abdul Ghafoor Malik stressed during a crucial meeting at the SCCI Auditorium that 2024 will be a pivotal year in Pakistan-Tajikistan ties, especially in light of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to the country. Following this visit, President Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed a historic agreement that reflected their shared aim to strengthen cooperation in security, education, and cultural exchange in addition to economics.

The President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce reiterated the chamber’s dedication to developing new business prospects via trade delegation exchanges, bolstering chamber ties for mutual market comprehension, and pursuing joint ventures under the Strategic Agreement to combine technology, craftsmanship, and market reach between Tajikistan and Sialkot.

Toir of the Republic of Tajikistan said that his country’s embassy in Pakistan is eager to increase the opportunities for cooperation between the two nations by arranging high-level visits.The ambassador from Tajikistan also emphasized the substantial market potential of “Made in Sialkot” goods in Central Asia, emphasizing Tajikistan’s role as a hub for trade with neighboring countries and the EU, Belarus, and Russia.

He urged both parties to take advantage of the forthcoming commercial Exhibition in Tajikistan, which offers a great chance to increase people-to-people connectivity and improve bilateral cooperation through the interchange of commercial delegations.The delegation visited BFC Sialkot after the conference to further cement relations between the two countries and look into possible areas of cooperation. Senior Vice President (SVP) Wahub Jahangir of the SCCI and the Sialkot Business Community were present at the meeting.
