Islamabad, Aug 2: It was reported that Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, the ambassador of Tajikistan, paid Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif a courtesy call in Islamabad.

According to the information, the Prime Minister wished the Ambassador a fruitful stay in Pakistan and gave him a warm welcome. Thinking back on his recent trip to Dushanbe, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the fruitful conversations he had with President Emomali Rahmon and conveyed gratitude for the kind reception he received. In order to further fortify bilateral relations, he emphasized the importance of the agreements and Memoranda of Understanding inked during the visit and urged for their prompt implementation.

In addition, the prime minister reaffirmed President Emomali Rahmon’s offer to visit Pakistan as soon as possible and said he looked forward to Tajikistan’s participation in the SCO Council of Heads of Government conference, which will take place in Islamabad in October.

The Tajik Ambassador made a number of recommendations during the discussion with the goal of strengthening collaboration in important fields like agriculture, education, defense, and connectivity via air and land routes. The Prime Minister accepted these suggestions and gave the pertinent Ministries instructions to meet with the Ambassador to have in-depth conversations. CASA-1000 and other regional connectivity initiatives were also considered. The Tajik Ambassador greeted President Rahmon, thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the reception, and reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to strengthening its ties with Pakistan.
