The Tangshan Nanhu Tourist Scenic Area, located in the city center of Tangshan, is a significant ecological restoration project. Once a subsidence area due to the Kailuan Coal Mine, it has been transformed into a lush and vibrant “urban living room.” The scenic area spans 5.4 square kilometers and features over 130 landscapes, such as Danfeng Chaoyang, Longshan, and Yunfeng Island. It offers visitors an ecological journey, blending nature with modern business formats.

The Shadow Puppet Theme Park is another highlight of the tour. It integrates Tangshan’s traditional shadow play culture with interactive features, offering a memorable experience for visitors, particularly families. The park includes attractions like the Low-Carbon Living Pavilion, Petting Zoo, and Black Forest. Its signature event, the Tangshan Shadow Puppet Theme Park Ice and Snow Festival, has become a major draw during the Spring Festival.

The group also visited Gezhuang Scenic Area, where they enjoyed rural ice and snow tourism, and experienced the peace of walking through rice fields in the countryside. On the final day, the group explored the Tangshan New Sports Center, a state-of-the-art facility that spans 112,900 square meters and includes a stadium, gymnasium, and swimming hall. The center is designed to host both regional and national sports events. Another stop was PeiRen Historical and Cultural Street, a vibrant area that blends architectural history with modern business formats, offering a unique glimpse into Tangshan’s cultural heritage.

Located about 150 kilometers southeast of Beijing, Tangshan celebrates the Chinese New Year with a month-long festival, offering visitors exciting experiences and a festive atmosphere. The city’s historical significance is also noted in its name, as it derives from the nearby Dacheng Mountain, once visited by Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. The tour highlighted Tangshan’s transformation, cultural richness, and festive charm, making it a must-visit destination during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
