Islamabad, Dec 14: Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister of Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, met Fahrettin Altun, the Head of Communications for the Turkish Presidency, on Saturday. They talked about a number of crucial topics, such as eradicating Islamophobia, fostering public diplomacy, and enhancing media cooperation.
They also prepared cooperative productions, exchanged media delegations, and talked on how to combat misinformation and disinformation. Additionally, PTV and Turkish state TV “TRT” agreed to jointly air Turkish dramas like Ertugrul Ghazi in Pakistan.
Additionally, the Turkish Directorate of Communications and Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting decided to establish a working group and choose representatives from both parties.
According to the minister, Pakistan and Turkey have a long history of fraternal relationships, and there are many opportunities for collaboration in the field of media. According to Tarar, improved media collaboration between the two nations would result in more stable public relations.
The discussion also covered collaboration and cooperative ventures in the tourist and leisure sectors. “We have to make the young generation aware of the historical relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye,” Attaullah Tarar stated, adding that the preparation of joint productions between the two nations will improve cultural interactions.
Professor Fahrettin Altun was asked to visit Pakistan by the Federal Information Minister. Professor Ultun stated that he was very interested in Pakistan’s media landscape.”Pakistani artists and musicians were very popular in Turkiye, and Turkish drama Ertugrul Ghazi gained great popularity in Pakistan,” he remarked.
He said media collaboration between the two nations will aid in the battle against misinformation and Islamophobia. The minister expressed gratitude to Prof. Fahrettin Altun for the Turkish media’s coverage of the Jammu and Kashmir crisis.
