Islamabad, Jan 8: Tecno has introduced its groundbreaking Starry Optical Fiber technology, a stunning innovation that combines optical fibers and mini-LED lights to create a shimmering effect on the back panel of its Phantom V Flip 2. This new design aims to offer a visually striking experience while preserving the phone’s functionality, showcasing Tecno’s commitment to innovative smartphone aesthetics.
150 Optical Fibers, 108 Mini-LED Lights Create Unique Design
The Starry Optical Fiber design is the result of a detailed process involving 30 manufacturing steps. Tecno’s engineers integrated 150 ultra-thin optical fibers and 108 mini-LED lights to create a fabric-like structure. The optical fibers were carefully threaded together with UV adhesive, resulting in a one-of-a-kind shimmering aesthetic that promises to captivate users.
To further enhance the experience, Tecno offers four customizable lighting modes: Tidal Waves, Rosy Sunset, Weekend Dusk, and Aurora. These modes allow users to adjust the lighting to suit their personal preferences. Importantly, the integration of these lighting elements has been designed not to affect the phone’s battery life. The design also ensures optimal heat dissipation, addressing concerns about thermal performance.
MWC 2025 Preview and Uncertain Availability
Tecno plans to showcase this innovative technology at the MWC 2025 event in March, offering attendees a chance to see and experience the Starry Optical Fiber technology firsthand. However, it remains unclear whether this special edition of the Phantom V Flip 2 will be available for purchase by customers.
