Islamabad, Oct 22: Telenor Pakistan has inked an MoU with Crop2X, an AgriTech solutions provider aiming to transform the agriculture industry by endorsing smart crop management big data solutions for farmers and agribusiness.
Areej Khan, Chief People Officer at Telenor Pakistan, and Ms. Ayesha Alam Khurram, Chief Executive Officer, Crop2X signed the MoU in Telenor Pakistan Campus 345 Islamabad.
Several executives witnessed and signed the implementation, where Telenor Pakistan attendees included Ahsan Maykan as SVP Consumer Marketing & Digital, Ammar Majeed as Head of Digital, Cynia Ejaz as Head of Corporate Innovation and several more while GSMA was attended by Bilal Qureshi as Director GSMA Innovation Fund, Zohaib Jawed Innovation Fund Manager (APAC) GSMA and Abdul Sami Panhwar
The objective of this strategic alliance is to increase crop development by two folds through the use of smart farming approach which has the possibility of making agriculture more accurate depending on real time advice.
The project will aim at using data science specialists, coders, electronics and equipment makers, and agrologists to help farmers complete tasks that include soil management, application of fertilizers and water in ways that can be efficient and effective for large scale farming, and pest and diseases management.
With these innovations, cooperation aims at meeting the identified key issues in Pakistan’s agricultural industry and encouraging sustainable development on the sector.
By way of this collaboration, the solutions developed by Crop2X will be available through both ‘My Telenor App’ (MTA) as well as mAgri Platform to more than 20 million customers.
