Islamabad, Dec 31: The Punjab government has reinstated 4,560 District Teacher Educators (DTEs) across the province, including 113 in Lahore, ending an eight-year hiatus. This decision marks the revival of a program discontinued in 2017, which had reassigned DTEs as regular teachers. The restored DTEs will resume their role in providing teacher training throughout Punjab.
Additional Updates:
- Teacher Transfer Ban Lifted:
As of June 2024, the Punjab government has lifted the ban on teacher transfers. Applicants must possess a seniority number, with eligibility requiring at least three years of service in their current school. - Concerns from Female Teachers:
Female educators have expressed concerns over the need to visit offices to acquire seniority numbers, urging the government to eliminate this condition for a smoother application process.
This reinstatement and the revised transfer policy aim to enhance the efficiency and training of Punjab’s education sector.
