Pakistani fashion designer Maria B has made headlines after Turkish influencer Türkan Ata accused her of failing to fully pay for a professional shoot in Turkey earlier this year.
Türkan Ata, known for her Urdu-language content in Pakistan, recently claimed in a social media video that Maria B failed to clear payment for a 2025 photoshoot project.
The payment dispute led to a war of words between the two celebrities, as both posted their responses on social media without accepting the allegations.

Calling it a “regrettable misunderstanding,” Team Maria B responded that they pay all their partners on time and proudly stated that they take pride in conducting business with integrity.
Hours later, Maria B issued a formal statement, citing the 25-year history of ethical partnerships and calling the dispute with Türkan a misunderstanding, not a refusal to pay.
It was not the first time the renowned designer faced severe media backlash over similar allegations and incidents of design plagiarism.
In August last year, a young Turkish artist accused Maria B of copying a design for her recently launched “Palestine Collection.”

The collection, featuring abayas, T-shirts, and kurtas, pledged all profits to support the Palestinian cause.
In response to the allegation, Maria B said that in today’s fast-paced social media era, mistakes can happen and that she had not copied the design intentionally.
Maria B also extended her apology and said she would collaborate with the Turkish artist on her Palestine Collection and continue her efforts to raise donations.
Earlier this year, Maria B once again came under the spotlight when she criticised the Women’s March, calling it a “march of unsuccessful women.”
Maria B criticised the Women’s March as a failed movement driven by an agenda of hatred against successful women.
