Islamabad, Jan 31: At CES 2025, Toyota announced it is expanding its efforts beyond the roads and into space. The company is investing $44.4 million in Interstellar Technologies, a Japanese space startup. This partnership, led by Toyota’s subsidiary Woven, aims to enhance Interstellar’s rocket production. With Toyota’s expertise in manufacturing, the goal is to make satellite launches more affordable and accessible.

One of the potential benefits could be for Woven City, a futuristic city Toyota is developing near Mount Fuji, which could use satellite-based communication from Interstellar’s rockets. Inspired by SpaceX’s Starlink, Toyota might create its own network of satellites.This investment kicks off Series F funding for Interstellar, helping Japan become a stronger player in the global space race.
