Islamabad, JULY25: Toyota Pakistan, well-known for its cars and the well-liked Hilux pickup trucks, has stopped producing the Hilux in gasoline. All Hilux models, including the single- and double-cab “Revo” and “Vigo” models, are now only offered with diesel engines. Due to a greater inclination for diesel engines, the less popular gasoline version was withdrawn.

Diesel versions are more popular than their gasoline counterparts, probably because they are more fuel-efficient and have more torque two important characteristics for heavy-duty applications. Given this pattern, Toyota had no choice but to phase out the gasoline version and bid adieu to a less popular choice.

Even if the gasoline version was discontinued, its features and specs should still be recognized because it contributed to the Hilux range’s variety of options. A 4-cylinder in-line 2TR-FE engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission powered the Hilux single cabin. With a maximum output of 163 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque, this arrangement offered enough power and performance for a range of driving applications.

The car had a number of significant safety features that improved driving security and protected the passengers. These featured engine oil level warning, light reminders, clutch start safety features, seatbelt reminders, anti-lock brakes, an immobilizer, SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger, and an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
