Islamabad, Dec 20: The government-operated electric vehicle (EV) charging network, UAEV, has announced that its revised tariffs will take effect in January 2025. The updated rates include Dh1.20 per kWh (plus VAT) for DC chargers and Dh0.70 per kWh (plus VAT) for AC chargers.
These adjustments aim to support the sustainability and scalability of the EV charging infrastructure. Despite the introduction of tariffs in May, EV charging services have remained free until now. To enhance user convenience, UAEV is introducing a mobile app that offers features like locating nearby charging stations, real-time status updates, and streamlined payment options. Additionally, a 24/7 call center will provide immediate support to ensure a hassle-free experience for users.
Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV, stated, “Standardized tariffs and innovative solutions like the UAEV app reflect our dedication to enhancing the EV driver experience. Our goal is to align with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and promote a cleaner, greener future.”
UAEV also plans to establish a network of 1,000 chargers by 2030. These chargers will be strategically installed across cities, highways, and transit hubs in all emirates to provide accessible options for both inter-city and intra-city EV users.
