Islamabad, Sep 20: Jam Kamal Khan, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, and Mohamed Yahiya, the recently appointed UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (UNRHC), met on Friday to talk about sustainable commercial growth.
Officials from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, International Trade Center, and UNRHC office joined him, according to a news release.The minister gave advice to include provinces and other pertinent stakeholders in the process and expressed appreciation for the UN’s work in the area of trade during the meeting.
When creating policies, Jam Kamal emphasized that Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) have to be prioritized. He underlined that in order to guarantee sustainability, the weak and marginalized, including the people residing in outlying areas, should share fairly in the advantages of export growth.
He was grateful for the efforts made by UN agencies to support fair and sustainable development in adjacent districts. He paid particular attention to initiatives in the agriculture sector that aim to better the lot of small farmers and producers.
Yahiya had already briefed the official on a variety of actions aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s trade competitiveness. According to him, commerce plays a significant role in creating the financial room that is essential for guaranteeing sustained development.
The UN team stated that they intended to create a package of trade and climate for sustainable trade growth in Pakistan, emphasizing the significance of trade-related environmental measures globally.
