Islamabad, 28 April 2025: Quetta Gladiators delivered a dominant performance to defeat Peshawar Zalmi by 64 runs in the 17th match of PSL 10 at Gaddafi Stadium.

After being asked to bat first, Quetta posted a strong total of 178 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Mark Chapman led the scoring with a steady 33 runs off 26 balls, hitting three boundaries.

Skipper Saud Shakeel and Kusal Mendis also made valuable contributions, adding 32 runs each. Opening batter Finn Allen gave the innings early momentum with a quick 31 off just 16 deliveries.

Peshawar’s bowling effort was led by Alzarri Joseph, who claimed three wickets, while Saim Ayub chipped in with two.

In reply, Zalmi’s batting collapsed under pressure, managing only 114 runs in 15.2 overs. Hussain Talat fought hard, scoring 39 from 34 balls, decorated with four boundaries and two sixes.

However, other batters failed to build partnerships, with Babar Azam (12), Mohammad Haris (17), and Mitchell Owen (15) being the only ones reaching double figures.

The win pushed Quetta Gladiators into third place on the PSL table, overtaking both Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

With six points from five matches, they now sit just below Lahore Qalandars, who also have six points but a better net run rate.

Islamabad United, unbeaten so far, continue to top the standings with ten points from five matches. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans remain at the bottom with only two points after six games.

Quetta’s emphatic victory has kept their playoff hopes alive as the competition moves towards its decisive phase.
