Karachi Kings delivered a powerful performance to defeat Multan Sultans by 87 runs in the 20th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, played at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Choosing to bat first, the 2020 champions set a daunting target of 205 runs, finishing their innings at 204 for 4.

James Vince anchored the Kings’ innings with an unbeaten 65 off 45 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes.

Middle-order batters Muhammad Irfan Khan and Khushdil Shah also played vital roles, contributing 40 and 33 runs respectively to help the Kings cross the 200-run mark.

In response, Multan Sultans faltered under pressure and were bowled out for just 117 in 16.1 overs. None of their batters managed to build a substantial innings, as Karachi’s bowlers dominated throughout.

This heavy defeat marked the Sultans’ seventh loss in eight matches and confirmed their exit from the tournament.

While Ubaid Shah picked up two wickets for Multan, he proved costly, leaking 49 runs in his four-over spell. Curtis Campher and David Willey claimed one wicket each.

Although the victory did not change Karachi’s position on the points table, their net run rate received a significant boost, climbing to +0.445.

Multan, now at the bottom with just two points and a net run rate of -2.597, have no chance of advancing.
