Islamabad, Nov 7: Utility Stores Sugar Price Decrease Big Cut in Per Kg Price Announced
The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has revealed a significant decrease in sugar prices, reducing it by Rs13 per kilogram, which now sets the price at Rs140 per kg across all its locations.
This prompt change provides much-needed relief for consumers as the prices of essential goods continue to rise.
The decrease in price resulted from fruitful discussions between USC and sugar manufacturers, who accepted to reduce their selling price to USC by Rs17 per kg.
The prior cost of sugar at utility stores was Rs153 per kg, making this newly set rate a considerable decrease.
By acquiring 12,000 metric tonnes of sugar at a negotiated price of Rs137 per kg, USC has effectively reduced prices while managing to cover operational costs.
Although the typical delivery expense stands at approximately Rs152 per kg, which covers costs for storage, transportation, and management, USC utilized rebates from mill operators to reduce losses and maintain reasonable prices.
This strategy reflects USC’s dedication to alleviating financial strain on families by offering essential goods at lower costs.
By acquiring sugar at lower prices and transferring the savings to consumers, USC is directly responding to the demand for affordable alternatives.
This initiative not only emphasizes USC’s commitment to consumer well-being but also showcases its forward-thinking approach to maintaining market stability in the face of fluctuating commodity prices.
