Islamabad, Mar 14 2025: Islamabad witnessed a vibrant celebration of Uzbek cuisine and culture as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, officially inaugurated the three-day ‘Food Fest Uzbekistan 2025’ on Friday.
The event, hosted at Centaurus Mall Islamabad, has been organized under the initiative of the Plant Protection and Quarantine Agency of Uzbekistan, bringing together 15 prominent Uzbek food companies to showcase their rich culinary heritage.
Marking the grand opening, Ambassador Tukhtaev emphasized the festival’s role in strengthening the historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, particularly during the sacred month of Ramazan.
He highlighted that Uzbekistan’s food industry is deeply rooted in tradition, with each dish narrating stories of nomadic heritage, ancient cities like Samarkand and Bukhara.
Visitors to the festival can explore a diverse range of Uzbek delicacies, from the iconic Plov, flavorful samsa, and hearty lagman, to the sweet and aromatic chak-chak.

With stalls featuring dairy products, bakery items, juices, meats, sausages, dry fruits, and more, the event offers a unique opportunity to experience Uzbekistan’s culinary diversity firsthand.
“This festival is not just about tasting food; it’s a journey into Uzbek culture, where every flavor tells a story,” said Ambassador Tukhtaev.
In ‘Food Fest Uzbekistan 2025’, encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs and traders to explore collaborative opportunities with Uzbek businesses, fostering trade and joint ventures in the food industry.
Acknowledging the efforts behind the event, he extended his appreciation to Sardar Yasir, CEO of Centaurus Mall, for providing a platform to celebrate Uzbek cuisine.
The festival, open to the public until Monday, aims to bridge cultures, strengthen business ties, and celebrate the shared love of food that transcends borders.
