Islamabad, Apr 15, 2025: In a major development for regional air connectivity, Uzbekistan Airways has announced the commencement of non-stop flights between Tashkent and Islamabad, set to begin on May 24, 2025.
This strategic move aims to strengthen diplomatic, commercial, and tourism ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan shared that this initiative will promote bilateral cooperation, ease travel, and open up new opportunities for businesses and travelers alike.
The direct route is expected to boost tourism, enhance people-to-people contacts, and facilitate smoother trade exchanges across borders.
Uzbekistan Airways and the Uzbek diplomatic mission in Islamabad are introducing the new air link through collaborative efforts.
Initially, the airline will operate one direct flight every Saturday, with future plans to expand the schedule depending on demand and logistical feasibility.
Currently, talks are underway with Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority to iron out technical and regulatory requirements.
If passenger response remains positive, the airline may consider increasing the number of weekly flights in the coming months.

Beyond this route, Uzbekistan Airways is also actively assessing options for launching direct connections with Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial hub.
This is part of a broader vision to deepen regional links and make travel more convenient for citizens and business communities of both nations.
At present, the carrier already operates twice-weekly flights between Tashkent and Lahore, flying on Wednesdays and Fridays, providing essential connectivity for travelers between these major cities.
These flights have played a key role in bridging distances and fostering mutual engagement.
The ongoing expansion of Uzbekistan Airways’ flight routes reflects a strong commitment to enhancing accessibility, promoting regional harmony, and meeting the growing travel needs of passengers.
These efforts are also expected to positively contribute to the tourism and aviation sectors of both countries.
With the addition of this new direct route, travelers from Pakistan and Uzbekistan will experience improved convenience, reduced travel time, and better options for cross-border movement.
This step marks a significant leap in Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations, setting the stage for increased collaboration in the coming years.
