Islamabad, Aug 31: During the 79th anniversary of Viet Nam National Day celebration, Vietnam’s ambassador to Pakistan, Pham Anh Tuan, expressed his wish for continued friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Pakistan to develop in the future. The famous Vietnamese leader, President Ho Chi Minh, declared that on September 2, 1945, he read aloud the immortal Declaration of Independence, establishing a new Vietnam: the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which is currently known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Vietnamese ambassador hopes that friendship and collaboration with Pakistan will endure.Speaking here at the Vietnam embassy on the 79th anniversary of Viet Nam National Day, Pham Anh Tuan, the ambassador of Vietnam to Pakistan, voiced these opinions.He declared that, at that precise time, Vietnam was placed on the map of the globe and ushered in a new age marked by national independence and the Vietnamese people’s growing autonomy over their nation, society, and personal fate.

According to the ambassador, Vietnamese people have dedicated their lives, energies, and knowledge over the past 79 years to achieving freedom, happiness, and national independence for all Vietnamese people.This time, he stated, “I think there is still a lot of room for growth in the relationship between Vietnam and Pakistan, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan will keep collaborating closely with our friends in Pakistan to make this happen.”

The day Vietnam and Pakistan established diplomatic relations was 52 years ago today.
According to the ambassador, the two nations’ friendship and cooperation have grown during the previous 52 years in a variety of areas, including trade, political cooperation, and economic ties. For the benefit of our people, we also have a shared interest in the development of our nations and their integration into the surrounding areas and the global community.The Vietnamese ambassador hopes that friendship and collaboration with Pakistan will endure.

The two-way trade volume between Vietnam and Pakistan reached $705 million in 2023 and during the first half of 2024, making bilateral economic relations between the two nations one of the most notable areas of cooperation today. This volume is roughly 402 million, which is a 28% increase over the same time previous year. In 2024, it is anticipated to reach $900 million.In addition, he said, the number of delegation exchanges for trade and visits has been rising year, and the two nations have inked several treaties and accords that establish the legal foundation for advancing their continued cooperation in the interests of their respective countries.

The Joint Intergovernmental Committee, Trade Commission, and Bilateral Political Consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs comprise our cooperative structure. I propose that in order to improve commercial relations, the two parties work together to organize events that promote investment and commerce, such as forums, trade shows, and exhibitions.He declared, “We welcome and will do everything in our power to create favorable conditions for all businessmen of Pakistan doing business with Vietnam, particularly in the fields of cotton, pharmaceutical, surgical, and information technology production, which are Pakistan’s strengths.”

Vietnam’s exports of tea, rubber, pepper, dry nuts, textiles, and chemicals are strong points that Pakistan would find appealing.According to the ambassador, Vietnam cooperates in trade and investment with 220 nations and territories and is a proactive participant in around 70 international and regional organizations, including the UN, WTO, ASEAN, and APEC, to name a few. Vietnam has been actively extending international collaboration in numerous fields while also assiduously integrating itself into the global economy.

Vietnam’s GDP was $ 430 billion in 2023, with a 5.8% GDP growth rate; income per capital increased by $4300 USD; and in the agricultural sector, Vietnam emerged as the world’s largest exporter of rice, cashew nuts, and pepper, with over 7.1 million tons valued at approximately $4 billion. According to the ambassador, Vietnam is a nation with a vibrant culture, a stable political system, and amiable citizens. It also has a developing economy.

All nations and peoples who value friendship, freedom, and peace are welcome to be our friends. We aim to use international law and negotiation to settle problems between nations.He said that Vietnam had emerged from a socioeconomic crisis to become a middle-income developing nation, having previously been a poor and backward nation. According to him, the people’s quality of life has significantly improved, the country’s sociopolitical situation has stabilized, its independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity have been preserved, its external relations have grown, and Vietnam’s standing and stature in the international community have improved.
