Islamabad, Apr 9, 2025:  Virat Kohli added another achievement to his already illustrious career by becoming the first Indian cricketer to score over 13,000 runs in T20.

The milestone came during Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thrilling encounter with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Needing just 17 runs to reach the landmark, the veteran right-handed batter delivered a match-winning performance, scoring 67 off 42 balls.

His innings featured 10 boundaries, including two sixes, and played a key role in RCB 12-run victory — their first win at the Wankhede in more than 10 years.

With this feat, the 36-year-old became only the fifth player in men’s T20 cricket to surpass the 13,000-run mark.

He now joins the ranks of Chris Gayle, former cricketer, Kieron Pollard, and Alex Hales.

Kohli reached the milestone in 386 innings, making him the second-fastest player to do so after Gayle, who managed it in 381 innings.

Though Gayle continues to lead the all-time T20 run scorers list with 14,562 runs, Kohli’s consistency places him firmly among the format’s legends.

Alex Hales (13,610) and Shoaib Malik (13,557) also remain ahead of Kohli for now, but the Indian star is closing in swiftly.

RCB’s win was further supported by Krunal Pandya, whose impressive four-wicket haul helped contain the Mumbai batting lineup.

The victory propelled RCB to third place in the points table with six points from four matches, while Mumbai Indians, with only one win in five outings, remain near the bottom.
