ISLAMBAD, AUGUST 7: The World Bank (WB) will work with the Punjab government to achieve quick development in a number of sectors, including agriculture, health, and education, according to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

The World Bank (WB) and the Punjab government have come to an agreement on reducing poverty, promoting social and economic development, enhancing the environment, and eliminating smog.
The Punjab Senior Minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb, presided over a meeting where ministers from the departments of education, health, industry, agriculture, local government, and irrigation examined this arrangement.

Terms were agreed upon during the meeting with a senior World Bank delegation headed by Country Director Najy Benhassine.

The delegation looked over potential areas of collaboration and discussed several options. According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, the World Bank’s “Country Framework” is a worldwide initiative that works with provincial governments or partner nations to achieve rapid development in a number of areas, such as agriculture, health, and education.The goal of taking part in this program for 2024–2027 is to speed up development in all areas, including young employment, IT, agriculture, health, education, and skill development.

She clarified that efforts will be made to offer top-notch medical facilities, treat mother and child malnutrition, raise health standards, encourage family planning education, and work with other Punjabi sectors.
Punjab’s health system is set to be improved through the broadest and most extensive program yet, which was introduced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to her, this effort aims to bring 250 basic health units and 300 health centers in remote areas up to international standards.

According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, the chief minister’s main objective is to guarantee notable and substantial advancements in a range of sectors and governance for equitable development in both rural and urban areas. She also mentioned that by giving youth laptops, the IT revolution is changing their lives and creating opportunities for work and education.

The Chief Minister’s Green Credit Program is a component of this plan, said WB Najy Benhassine.
The World Bank delegation pledged complete collaboration and commended the CM’s all-encompassing plan for social, economic, and environmental development. They conveyed a wish for robust, long-term, and all-encompassing cooperation with Pakistan.
