Islamabad, Feb 11: Karachi is bracing for a rise in temperatures from midweek, with daytime highs expected to reach 32°C, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The Early Warning Centre forecasts stronger sunshine starting Wednesday, intensifying the heat.

The minimum temperatures are predicted to be around 17°C on Wednesday and 18°C on Thursday. Although the daytime temperatures could exceed 32°C, cooler nights are expected to persist. Additionally, sea breezes are anticipated to help alleviate the heat starting tomorrow. However, foggy conditions could affect central and northern Sindh during the morning hours.

Meanwhile, Lahore and other areas of Punjab are experiencing cloudy skies, with light rain expected in some regions due to an ongoing weather system. Dry conditions are expected to return by Wednesday as the system moves out. Lahore’s temperatures are anticipated to range between 9°C and 24°C.

In the rest of the country, most regions will continue to experience cold and dry weather, with light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills expected in parts of the Potohar Region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Morning temperatures recorded in major cities include:

  • Islamabad & Lahore: 14°C
  • Karachi: 22°C
  • Peshawar: 12°C
  • Quetta: 6°C
  • Gilgit: 5°C
  • Murree: 2°C
  • Muzaffarabad: 9°C
