Islamabad, Apr 6, 2025: WhatsApp is introducing a new privacy enhancement in its latest update for Android users, aimed at giving individuals more control over how their media is shared in chats.

This advanced feature will allow users to prevent automatic saving of media files — including photos, videos, voice messages, and documents — on their devices.

As a result, if someone sends media to a recipient who has this feature activated, those files won’t automatically be saved to their device’s gallery.

This update is similar to the already available disappearing messages feature, further indicating WhatsApp’s efforts to enhance user privacy.

Just like disappearing messages, this new functionality is optional, meaning users can choose whether or not to enable it for specific conversations based on their personal preferences in the app settings.

Activating this feature allows users to have greater control over the content they share, reducing the likelihood of unauthorized exports of chats, and offering added security, especially when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
