Islamabad, Nov 2: WhatsApp Chat Categories Feature Now Allows Users to Organize Chats in Multiple Ways

Custom lists, an improved version of the chat filters that were first released earlier this year, are the most recent update to Meta’s messaging service WhatsApp.

With the help of this new tool, users may now group their chats into customized categories, such as neighborhood connections, work-related conversations, and family communications.

It’s simple to utilize conversation filters: just press the + symbol in the filter bar at the top of the Chats page to create new lists. A long press on any current list will bring up editing options, making list administration equally user-friendly.

Like the current favorites function, the functionality lets users add both private and group chats to their personalized lists. For convenience, all generated lists will be shown inside the filter bar.

WhatsApp states that although the global deployment has already started, full worldwide availability will be attained gradually over the course of the upcoming weeks when the functionality is made available to all platform users. Use your individual app stores to ensure that your app is up to current.

As usual, WhatsApp is developing a number of new capabilities, including the capability to validate URLs. By doing this, scammers and other bad actors should be able to avoid sending harmful links.

Additionally, WhatsApp will have a new dialer for the iPad app, a notification for third-party chat requests, an automatic text formatting option, a shortcut for opening the photo and video gallery through the chat bar, and more.
