Introduce the WhatsApp Status feature in 2017, WhatsApp users could share text, emoticons, photographs, and other content with their contacts for a full day. The Status Privacy feature allowed users to select whether their status updates would be accessible to all contacts, only certain contacts, or everyone except specific contacts, so the visibility wasn’t always for all contacts.
Let’s go back to last month, when the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.75 included a little prompt before publishing a new version that made the Status version Privacy setting simpler. The same feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.24.12.27), thus it should soon be available for Android phones.

This acts as a trigger, at the very least, to remind users of their current privacy settings so they don’t forget to make any necessary adjustments. Users may conveniently make changes without having to go through the settings if they need to. The purpose of this improvement is to help users be more conscious of who their audience is for each update.

This functionality might already be available to people who are in the beta channel. If not, more testers are anticipated to receive it gradually over the next few days. There isn’t a release date yet for the live version, but WhatsApp will probably make an announcement when it does.
