Islamabad, Apr 7, 2025:  The Pakistan Super League’s Green Cap — officially named the Hanif Mohammad Cap — continues to celebrate consistent batting excellence in the T20 competition.

Awarded to the highest run-scorer of the season, the cap changes hands throughout the tournament before settling on the leading batter after the final match.

This year, Babar Azam reclaimed the honour, finishing the 2024 edition with 569 runs in 11 innings for Peshawar Zalmi.

The former Pakistan captain delivered five half-centuries and a century, reinforcing his dominance at the domestic T20 level.

Babar has now topped the PSL run charts three times, having previously won the Green Cap in 2020 and 2021. His performance in 2024 adds another milestone to his already illustrious PSL career.

The Green Cap has a proud history, having been claimed by both national and international stars.

Mohammad Rizwan, captain of Multan Sultans, was the top scorer in 2023, while Fakhar Zaman stood out in 2022 for Lahore Qalandars.

Earlier seasons saw international names like Australia’s Shane Watson and New Zealand’s Luke Ronchi finishing as top scorers, highlighting the league’s growing global profile.

In the initial years of the tournament, Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal led the batting charts, reflecting the contribution of experienced local players in laying the foundation of the league.
