Islamabad, Nov 19: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced updated winter schedules for educational institutions under its jurisdiction, effective from December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025. These revised timings apply to Islamabad Model Schools/Colleges and ex-FG Colleges in both urban and rural regions.
Updated Schedules
Single-Shift Schools:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Montessori/Prep Classes: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs:
- ECE-I: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
- ECE-II: 11:30 am – 2:30 pm
Double-Shift Schools:
- Morning Shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Evening Shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm
- Friday: 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Postgraduate Colleges:
- 8:30 am – 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm, depending on requirements
Saturday Remedial Classes:
- Timings: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (for designated teachers)
Area Education Officers have been tasked with ensuring adherence to the new schedules in their respective jurisdictions. The notification, approved by the FDE Director General, has been circulated to relevant stakeholders, including Directors of Schools and Colleges. The adjusted timings are designed to optimize academic activities during the winter months while accounting for reduced daylight hours.
