Islamabad, 17 April 2025: Women cricketers participating in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier were hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) at the Wagah Border.
Invited by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, both local and international players attended the event, which left a strong impression on many.
The cricketers were seen moved by the intense patriotic atmosphere and the crowd’s energy during the ceremony.
Players from Ireland, Scotland, Bangladesh, Thailand, and the West Indies joined Pakistan’s team to watch the Pakistan Rangers’ disciplined performance.

The parade, known for its precision and spirit, was met with cheers and applause from the athletes.
Cricketers joined in chanting slogans of solidarity with Pakistan, such as “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Jeeway Pakistan,” adding to the moment’s enthusiasm.
Several players, particularly those visiting Pakistan for the first time, expressed their appreciation for the hospitality and described the event as memorable.
International players shared that they had never witnessed such a vibrant display of national pride before and praised the energy of the crowd and Rangers alike.
Many took selfies and photos with the Rangers as souvenirs of the visit.

In a gesture of goodwill, Pakistan Rangers Punjab presented commemorative gifts to the captains of all participating teams.
The visit comes as the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier continues in Lahore, where all six teams are competing in a single round-robin format.
Matches are being held at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium and the LCCA Ground.
With a place in the 2025 Women’s World Cup in India on the line, teams are vying for the top two spots.
Hosts Pakistan have made a strong start, registering victories over Ireland, Scotland, and the West Indies.
Pakistan will face Thailand next, followed by a decisive clash with group leaders Bangladesh on April 19.
