Cardiologists are warning people on the deadly effects of gadget addiction on World Heart Day, Sunday, as millions of people die from heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure each year. People should emphasize leading a balanced lifestyle to protect their heart health.
Renowned cardiologist Maj. Gen. (R) Dr. Azhar Mahmood Kayani told a private news station that World Heart Day is commemorated on September 29 every year to increase awareness about heart disease and preventive measures that might help prevent and treat cardiovascular illnesses.
Cardiologists emphasize the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle on this day and caution that gadget addiction is a serious risk to cardiovascular health. For a healthier heart, he underlined how vital it is to unplug from electronics and re-establish a connection with life’s basic necessities.
Globally, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death. When heart attack, stroke, and heart failure are combined, he noted, the bulk of these deaths occur in low- and middle-income nations. These disorders affect the heart or blood arteries. He proposed that we can better control our heart health and prevent CVD by making simple lifestyle changes to what we eat and drink, how much exercise we get, and how we handle stress.
The importance of young adults prioritizing the development of a supportive network, which includes a healthy work environment and emotional support systems, was highlighted by assistant professor Dr. Rubina Khan, a cardiologist. This foundation, laid down in childhood, is an essential defense against heart disease.
Dr. Khan emphasized the need of emotional support networks in preserving heart health.Strong support systems reduce these risks and enhance mental toughness and general wellbeing.She continued, “Young adults can protect themselves from the heart-wrenching effects of cardiovascular disease by incorporating these elements into their ecosystem.”
She noted that by encouraging preventative measures, routine health examinations, and healthy lifestyle choices, World Heart Day plays a critical role in lowering the worldwide burden of heart disease.She went on to say that public awareness of risk factors and how to manage them is greatly enhanced by campaigns such as World Heart Day.
