Islamabad, Aug 27: Xiaomi is reportedly working on a buttonless smartphone under the codename “Zhuque,” which is expected to launch in the first half of 2019. The phone’s most distinctive feature as its name implies will be the absence of physical buttons.
The leak’s source was unable to confirm what will take the place of conventional buttons, despite the lack of information. Alternatives that have been suggested include voice instructions, pressure-sensitive edges, and gesture controllers. With the P30 Pro, Huawei implemented virtual side buttons that required double tapping on either side of the phone in order to change the volume.
Xiaomi thinks that the Zhuque’s under-display selfie camera will surpass Samsung’s efforts in this domain, in addition to its buttonless design. The gadget which is also anticipated to be included in the Xiaomi 15S Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 SoC and is scheduled for delivery in April or June of 2025. Anticipated to make its debut in October, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 is supposedly an improved version of the regular 8 Gen 4.
It is still to be seen if the Zhuque will win over customers or turn into just another niche experiment similar to the Meizu Zero, a phone that vanished into thin air.According to reports, Xiaomi is making a tri-folding phone that resembles the next Huawei model. It is rumored to be part of the Xiaomi Mix series and to be unveiled in February of the following year.
