Islamabad, Sep 2: Making his nation proud, a ten-year-old child from Swat, Pakistan, placed fourth in an international Quran recitation competition conducted in Algeria. His accomplishment demonstrated the close spiritual and cultural ties that exist between Algeria and Pakistan.
Ten-year-old Muhammad Bashar from Swat, Pakistan, recently competed in the “Mazamir Dawood” International Quran Recitation Competition, which was hosted in Algeria and was sponsored by the private media network “Echorouk.” Participants from more than 15 countries competed in the tournament, which ran from August 18 to August 31. Muhammad Bashar placed fourth and received a $1,500 reward.
This competition, which showcases the talents of young Quran reciters from all around the world, is held annually by the Echorouk channel. Under the auspices of Algeria’s President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria also hosts an annual International Quran Recitation Competition.
