ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 8: The community notes feature on YouTube is now being gradually rolled out to a select group of users. Screenshots of invites sent to participants in the trial program for this new feature—which will allow users to add brief annotations or edits to certain video content—are making the rounds on social media.

The community notes feature on YouTube was first released in June. The purpose of this program is to improve audience comprehension and accuracy with regard to video content, especially in the run-up to the US presidential election.

Though an official debut date has not been disclosed, YouTube has included a section in its Help database specifically designed to assist users in creating and uploading community notes.

Currently, only English-speaking mobile customers in the US are eligible for the test program. Email invites or alerts from within their Creator Studios accounts are used to choose participants.
Before a broader public rollout, YouTube plans to solicit input from this initial tester group in order to improve the functionality of the feature and establish standards for classifying notes as “helpful,” “somewhat helpful,” or “unhelpful.”

Six new TikTok-inspired segments were added to YouTube Shorts last month. The “Add Yours” sticker is the first feature that allows you to swiftly interact with artists via stickers; subsequent features are aimed at making it easier for you to create short-form content more quickly than previously. These enable you to have your content read aloud in four distinct voices or to automatically generate captions for your videos.
