Islamabad, Aug 22: Gilgit Baltistan now has smooth, fast 4G service from Zong, the top telecom provider in Pakistan. The network has gone live throughout Gilgit, Hunza, and Skardu, and additional expansion is prepared for launch. Zong is demonstrating its dedication to offering top-notch, reasonably priced 4G services and nationwide connectivity with this effort.
The objectives of this project are to increase digitization, support livelihood, and hasten the expansion of data connectivity from Pakistan to the larger Gilgit-Baltistan region.
In order to ensure smooth network connectivity, 59 4G sites are being deployed as part of this project in over 15 cities around the Gilgit Baltistan area. Residents in important cities including Gilgit, Astore, Skardu, and Hunza may already access services. The people of Gilgit Baltistan will not be the only ones benefiting from this network expansion; annual visits from both domestic and foreign visitors will find it extremely convenient.
Gilgit Baltistan can now access Zong’s 4G network coverage thanks to the company’s strategic alliance with Special Communications Organization (SCO). By working together, Zong and SCO are sharing vital network resources to keep these services available and reasonably priced for Gilgit Baltistan’s citizens.
“Ensuring 4G availability in GB marks a significant step in our mission to provide excellent products and services and enable digitalization in Pakistan,” said Zong’s CEO, offering his perspective on the project. In addition to meeting the local people’ need for connectivity, 4G connectivity creates new prospects for local enterprises, tourism, and educational institutions. In such remote places and under such difficult circumstances, this development has been a difficult task, and I applaud all the diligent individuals involved.
