Islamabad, Oct 29: Aleem Khan Praises NHA for 100% Revenue Surge, M-Tag Rollout, and Technical Upgrades. Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Communications, Board of Investment and Privatization, praised Pakistan’s motorway and GT roads for their notable revenue growth and technological advancements during his Monday visit to the National Highway Authority (NHA) headquarters and inspection of the National Traffic Operation Center.

The switch to the M-Tag system for 99 percent of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway has significantly decreased traffic congestion and simplified toll operations, according to Aleem Khan. Aleem Khan said, “I am happy with NHA’s efforts to modernize the toll collection process, and the switch to M-Tag has significantly improved traffic flow.”

Aleem Khan went on to highlight the NHA’s historic financial accomplishments, stating that revenue had increased by 100% and that the expected aim had increased to Rs 110 billion from Rs 64 billion the previous year.Aleem Khan praises NHA’s technical upgrade, M-Tag adoption, and 100 percent income increase. The minister declared, “This is a historic milestone, the first time a public institution will generate an additional Rs 50 billion in revenue.”The NHA was instructed by the federal minister to raise the number of M-Tag booths and decrease the number of cash lanes on all motorways.

Additionally, he mandated that all toll plazas have camera systems installed in order to keep an eye on cars and record license plate data. Stressing that the NHA Chairman and the Secretary of Communications should have access to these updates. Aleem Khan continued, “Daily revenue reports should be prepared to maintain accountability and progress.”

After a two-week public awareness campaign, he suggested charging a twofold toll for cars without M-Tags as the next step in the M-Tag plan. Aleem Khan emphasized how crucial it is to convert all motorways to M-Tag in order to increase safety and facilitate traffic flow.

With an emphasis on cutting cash lanes and easing traffic congestion, the federal minister commended NHA officials for reaching a 99 percent M-Tag adoption rate on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and urged similar progress on other roads.

The minister announced bonuses and incentives for staff members who helped NHA succeed in appreciation of the organization’s efforts and income development. The NHA Chairman was among the senior officials who briefed on a range of operational issues and strategic plans meant to enhance the country’s infrastructure and service standards.
