Islamabad, 29 April 2025: Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, Dubai offered a rare moment of unity as fans from both sides came together through music.

Atif Aslam, one of Pakistan’s most popular singers, delivered a soulful performance at Global Village, a well-known family entertainment destination in Dubai.

His concert attracted a large crowd of both Indian and Pakistani music lovers, who swayed, danced, and sang together — showcasing how music can transcend borders.

Despite the growing hostility between the two neighbouring countries, the evening was marked by shared joy rather than rivalry.

Many attendees, speaking after the concert, described it as a reminder that people on both sides still crave peace and togetherness, regardless of political narratives.

For more than two hours, Aslam performed a diverse mix of songs in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and English.

Hits like Pehli Nazar Mein thrilled the crowd, while classics like Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai stirred deep nostalgia.

The organisers said the event was meant to bring people closer through culture and art, a goal they believe was successfully achieved.

Dubai’s cosmopolitan atmosphere once again allowed space for mutual appreciation and harmony between South Asians.

Amid rising tensions, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty over a Kashmir attack it blamed on Pakistan, which denied the claim and responded by closing its airspace to Indian flights.

Cultural and sporting ties have strained, with India skipping the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and barring Rohit Sharma from a captains’ photo in Lahore.

Many fans and analysts believe that art, music, and sports should rise above politics, offering hope for peace and unity between the two nations.
