Zalmi’s chase stumbled with early wickets, and Babar later admitted their failure to execute powerplay plans cost them the match.
He pointed out that the pitch slowed down in the second innings but refrained from using it as an excuse.
The captain praised Saim Ayub for his fighting knock and called him a key player for the rest of the tournament.
“We could not build partnerships and lost wickets regularly,” Babar reflected.
