Islamabad, Nov 15: The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will include a Parliamentary Meeting in Baku. About 330 people, including 167 lawmakers, will attend the event, which is co-organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. There will be 12 speakers and deputy speakers, and 92 delegations from 66 nations and international organizations.
The meeting will cover issues including the effects of climate change, the role of parliaments in carrying out bold climate pledges, the creation of climate finance structures, resilience building, equitable approaches to climate action, technological advancements for mitigating climate change, food and health security, and managing population displacement caused by climate change, according to the AZERTAC news agency.
