Islamabad, Aug 24: The government of Balochistan has made the decision to use public-private partnerships to run state-owned hospitals. Ten public hospitals in the province will adopt this strategy in the first phase. Additionally, a notification from the Health Department has been sent out to include the Trauma Centers in Khuzdar and Zhob in this program.
The District Headquarters Hospitals in Zhob, Panjgur, Kohlu, Pashin, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Qalat, and Lasbela districts are among the hospitals in Balochistan that are being converted to Public-Private Partnerships. Similar to this, the Punjab government stated last month that it will be hiring private corporations to handle the operation rooms in public hospitals. The government hospitals in Punjab have received official notification of this from the government.
In accordance with this strategy, private medical companies will install and maintain cutting-edge surgical equipment, including as arthroscopy, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and endo-urology devices, in addition to running operating rooms. The goal of the program is to modernize surgical facilities at public hospitals so that patients can receive state-of-the-art equipment for a variety of medical procedures.
